| Open Back vs. Closed Back guitar cab |

Often we find that the cabinets that our potential customers use were chosen
for the speakers and the back panel... Although these are major contributors
to the sound, they are only finishing touches to a great cab, that is why we
offer you the choice of open or closed back cabinets at no extra cost. The
only exception to this is the Studio Pro 2x12 which comes with a three piece
back as standard.
Although it is very subjective as far as sound goes the rule of thumb is closed
backs are better for live situations where the cab is miked up, they help
project the sound from the speakers straight out of the baffle, whereas open
back cabs help fill the room they are in getting a more ambient sound. We
cant tell you what sounds best, in actual fact it changes on the situation, the
cabinet and the speakers, but we do offer a choice of not just both but a
three piece back... allowing both open and closed back configurations (at a
charge of £10).
As a final option we do offer to build another panel if you need it. |
