Hi everyone, I think it's a couple of years since my last post on here. Last time I probably promised to do one a week and that's probably what I'm going to say now too.....

I've been building cabs for over twenty years, and that's meant a lot of playing of speakers. Since starting the Youtube channel back in 2019 though I've had to think more about how I talk about speakers, and how I articulate my thoughts on them, and the more I've done this, the more I've reaslised we all listen to speakers differently.

To cut a long story short. A few years ago I started collating my recordings and design a system that would allow the comparison of guitar speakers but in a fair way. One minor change to mic or mic position compromises the test, so I built a rig and a site to allow a lot of speakers to be compared. I also decided to dump a load of information on there too on things that are important to consider when choosing what cab to use. There's so much miss information out there I just wanted to put it all in one place and try and keep it as high quality as possible. Naturally it's some a crazy amount of mission creep. It start off being for about 30 speakers, we've now got 100 speakers on there, 50-60 coming up soon and hope to have over three hundred by early next year.

So, if you've ever wondered what a vintage 30 for 2025 sounds like against a Mojotone Greyhound and an OEM EVM 12L then this is the place for you.

I'm going to try and put more information up soon but if it sounds interesting to you give it a shot.

Enjoy.

Paul
